Quality SPC and rigid-core LVP are 100% waterproof on the surface — meaning standing water won't damage the plank itself. However, water can still seep through the seams of click-lock LVP if it sits there long enough, so we always recommend wiping spills promptly. For bathrooms and rental properties, we often suggest glue-down installation, which seals the seams completely.
How long does LVP last in Florida?
Quality residential LVP/SPC has a 20–30 year manufacturer warranty when properly installed. In Florida's humidity, the failure mode is rarely the LVP itself — it's almost always inadequate subfloor prep (uneven slab, untested moisture, or cheap underlayment). Can LVP be installed over existing tile?
